How long does it take to set up?

A few minutes. Make your account, add or import your customers and price book, and connect your Stripe. You can import a CSV from Jobber, Housecall Pro, QuickBooks, Google, or a spreadsheet. Mortar matches the columns for you, and running the same file again updates your records instead of making duplicates.

Can I bring my existing data over?

Yes. Import your contacts and properties, your price book, and any open quotes and invoices from a CSV. Running the same file again updates what’s there instead of making duplicates, so it’s safe to redo an import if you need to.

How do payments work?

You connect your own Stripe account. Customers pay by card or bank draft (ACH) on a page that carries your brand, and the money goes straight to your business. Mortar never holds your money and never takes a percentage of a payment.

Does Mortar take a cut of my payments?

No. You pay a flat monthly subscription and nothing on top of your payments — unlike the platforms that run every payment through themselves. Stripe charges its standard processing fee, which is Stripe’s fee, not ours. You can pass that card fee on to the customer if you want, so you keep the full amount.

Can I bill recurring service automatically?

Yes. A recurring job can charge the customer’s card on its own — they authorize it once — or send an invoice on a schedule you set, weekly, every two weeks, or monthly. Either way it counts toward your recurring revenue.

Three flat plans: Solo at $39/month, Core at $99/month, and Suite at $179/month. Every plan includes contacts, quotes, invoicing, e-sign, and card and ACH payments. The higher plans add scheduling, then books and marketing, plus more seats and documents with no Mortar branding.

Are there any hidden fees or add-ons?

No. You pick a plan and you get everything in it. There are no per-feature upsells, no setup fee, and no “talk to sales.” The only outside cost is Stripe’s standard processing fee on payments, which is Stripe’s fee, not ours.

ServiceTitan is priced for big companies and hidden behind a sales call. Jobber and Housecall Pro charge per user, add on extras, and process your payments for you. Mortar is a flat price, you sign up yourself, and you keep your own Stripe. You get more in one place for a lot less.

Can I change plans or cancel?

Yes, anytime. Upgrade when you add a module or a crew member, and downgrade or cancel whenever you want. Your data stays yours.

One system. A quote turns into a job and then an invoice without you re-typing anything, and the numbers match everywhere you look. Your books, your pipeline, and your calendar always agree.

Can my crew use it in the field?

Yes. There’s a “My jobs” view on the phone with big buttons and one-tap check-in. A tech can see today’s jobs and addresses and mark them done from their phone. You decide what each person can see and do.

Can I add employees and control what they can access?

Yes. Invite your people and set what each one can do. A field tech can build and send quotes and work jobs without seeing your margins, your finances, or your settings. Each plan comes with a set number of seats.

Do my quotes and invoices show my branding?

Yes. Your customer documents carry your logo and your brand color. On the Suite plan you can take off Mortar’s footer completely, so the documents show only your business.

What does Mortar integrate with?

Mortar connects to your own Stripe for card and ACH payments, and sends texts through OpenPhone for sign links and invoices. The books cover a cash-basis P&L, Schedule C, and a balance sheet, so you don’t need separate accounting software. More integrations are on the way.
